Welcome to Wal Goch Fishing
27/2/10 John Corkhill: Fished between 2-00 pm and 5-00 pm, had 5 rainbow including a 6lb fish on a lime green fritz. All returned.
Monday 8th March 2010, Mr Simon Newport of Rhuddlan enjoyed an excellent days fishing catching 6 fish in total, three of which were over 5lb, with
the heaviest approximately 7lb and in superb condition that fought hard for 10 minutes before being landed.
Intermediate line with dark lures and cats whiskers were the order of the day. All fish were safely returned.
On April 24th, actor and television star Steve Meo said: An excellent small water offering imitative fishing for good conditioned trout that look
and taste great!!
Feedback from Malcolm Reece May 2010: Had an excellent three hours or so fishing last week with my cousin who I was staying with. We
had four fish between us including a good size brownie. The fish were fit and were full of buzzers with very active surface feeding despite
the weather being quite cold. I thought the fishery was most enjoyable to visit and was impressed to find a natural lake in unspoilt
surroundings with fish feeding on an abundant supply of natural insect life. Will be high on my list of fisheries to visit when next in North
Wales
Feedback from Philip Lunt: Fished Wal Goch on Tues. 19th Oct. 20010 with my fishing companion Frank from Crewe. Frank caught his best
rainbow to date there, a powerful fully finned fish of four and a half pounds and built like a racing snake that took a good 10 minutes to
subdue. The fish was caught on a size 12 viva on a 5/6 wt rod. We went on to catch a further 6 fish up to three pounds 5 of which were returned.
In all a good day out in nice surroundings, we will return soon I hope.

Had a great session fishing on sinking line and bloodworm fishing close to the island. caught three hard fighting rainbows to 2 1/2 pounds (
bigger than Phils' ). Fortunately Phil very sportingly offered to land the fish as my net was too short to reach from the platform ( the only way I
can reach the island when casting according to Phil !!) Frank and Phil also caught a couple of rainbows and all fought above their weight.
Hopefully the three stooges will be back there soon
19.8.11 hi phil it was good to be back fishing in wal-goch yesterday, it was a good day. though only caught 1, 2 3/4 lbs it's good to see
that they still put up a good fight, i look forward to be there fishing more often with you. see you soon phil,
Steve Hession
Comments: Fished on Saturday 20th August. Started fishing at the top of the lake (as you walk to it your left) floating line with first 9 foot sinking
green Damsel. Fishing about 3 foot down cought 1st 2lb rainbow after 10 mins. Nothing after that although a gent had just caught 10 on next peg. I
moved down the bank to the other side of the island (still facing the farm). Plenty of flies on the water and me and one lost fish, another gent had
just landed one inbetween the island and same bank and he left. I moved to where he caught, this was about 4:00pm and between 4 and 5 I caught
with nearly every cast. I finished fishing at about 6 as the rain came down having landed 14 fish between 1lb and 2.5 lb. I also lost about the same
amount. all this was on an orange lure. One of the best days fishing I have had certainly the most productive. Worth a visit. Mike Peacock
Feedback from Northwest FTG Fur and Feather: - Biggest fish went to Bernard Cotterill, just
over 9lbs. Fish pictured with his son Gary.
A great day was had by all and plenty of fish around and over 5lbs were
caught.
